Top 8 Street Dance Battle - Development Outreach Program - Belfast City, N.Ireland

Top 8 Street Dance Battle will be carrying out developmental workshops series in 4 major cities across Ireland and Northern Ireland to further authentically develop the ever-growing and vibrant Street Dance and Hip-hop culture here in Ireland.

We will be partnering up with a diverse group of artists and collectives to lead these workshops in the areas of

  • Street Dance (Breaking & Hip-Hop)

  • MCs (Rappers & Beatboxers)

  • Djs (Turntablist)

  • Graffiti Artists

we will also have an after-party (+18) following the development sessions.

The workshops and the after-party are free to the public, but have limited capacity and require registration.

Friday, 8th of September 2023 - Belfast City

MC/rap workshop

  • Location: 13 park road old masonic hall Belfast City, N.Ireland

  • Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

  • Capacity: 10

This workshop will be led by DURTY DEVZ, that will introduce to participants the art of writing, rhyming, cadences, and flow. The session will also touch on a different aspect of what an MC does from the perspective of the culture.

This session will then conclude later during the day with a recorded MC Cypher from Kill the beat TV hosted by Native TV with cork invited MCees and dj.

Street Dance WORKSHOP (Breaking)

  • Location: 13 park road old masonic hall Belfast City, N.Ireland

  • Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

  • Capacity: 20

the street dance workshop will be led by Northern Soles Crew .

This workshop will introduce those that attend the dance element of the culture. will focus on the foundational technique, form, and history of the artform and how to authentically express using this form. This session will conclude with an introduction to what a street dance battle is and its purpose within the culture. Open to dancers of all levels!

Saturday, 9th of September 2023 - Belfast City

DJ (Turntablism) workshop

  • Location: 13 park road old masonic hall Belfast City, N.Ireland

  • Time: 12pm-2pm

  • Capacity: 5

The Stevie Overend will lead the dj workshop. the workshop is open to those who are willing to learn the art form of Disk Jockeying where they learn the introduction to how to beat match, basic scratching patterns and tempo controls.

Graffiti workshop

  • Location: 13 park road old masonic hall Belfast City, N.Ireland

  • Time: 12pm - All Day

The Jester will lead the graffiti workshop. the workshop is open to those who are willing to learn the art form.

after party - Over 18’s Social Gathering

  • LOCATION: 13 park road old masonic hall Belfast City, N.Ireland

  • TIME: 10PM - LATE

The after party will be hosted by Skank FM with a range of world music from 90s Hip-hop & RnB to Afrobeats to Amapiano to Irish rap.

Culture Nite | Culture Jam
